DJ Grabs Second Win of the Season in Mexico City

The Tour wrapped up the WGC Mexico Championship with an exciting Sunday of golf yesterday as World #1, Dustin Johnson, solidified his position at the top with his second win of the season.

Dustin held a four-shot lead until bogeying holes 12 and 13 where, rookie Jon Rahm, caught up to share the lead. After a birdie on 15, Rahm took a stroke for the lead but bogeyed holes 16 and 17 that let DJ walk in his final hole with a two-putt par for the win.

Johnson’s Official World Golf Ranking is now extended to 2.36 points advantage over Jason Day who missed the tournament due to illness.

DJ has certainly found his groove and is exciting to watch on the course. He had this to say about the weekend: “I’ve got a lot of confidence in the game. I feel like I’m controlling my ball very well and I feel like my driver is a little straighter, which if I can drive it straight I’m going to play well every week.”

Let’s see if he can keep that flow and grab a major this season!
