Jason Dufner Takes Memorial at Muirfield

Amidst two weather delays and some tough playing conditions at Muirfield Village, the Memorial Tournament served up some great watching over the weekend.
Jason Dufner, who attributed his first two low rounds and lead of the tournament to his new focus on breathing, like a sniper would, in his pre-shot routine. The Duf must have held his breath on Saturday, however, as he carded a 77 and dropped three shots off the lead.
Reclaiming his lead on Sunday led him to two shots under playing partner Rickie Fowler and a long weather delay on the 18th hole. As the delay lifted, Dufner found the middle of the green in three on the par-4 and jarred his 35-foot par-putt for the win.
In an uncharacteristic show of emotion, Duf tossed in a fist pump to close it out.
“I didn’t want to celebrate too much because Rickie is my guy,” Dufner said, “and I didn’t want to rub it in too much. But he’s a pretty good sport about it, so I had a little fist pump there.”
