Jeff Knox is Living Your Dream

You know when you ask someone: “How’ya doing?” and they irritatingly reply: “Just livin’ the dream!” … Well Jeff Knox is the only one that’s allowed to reply is such a way.

Knox is the marker at Augusta National for The Masters tournament. When the 36-hole cut leaves the field at an odd number, Augusta insists that no one plays alone, so they’ve appointed one member to fill the gap. Enter, Jeff Knox.

Founder of The Knox Foundation, Jeff is a long-time member at Augusta National and has been summoned to 18 rounds at The Masters. No slouch to the game, Jeff holds the course record 61(!) from the member’s tees. Justin Thomas, buddies with Knox’s son, says that he’s “an absolute legend” and that he’d “take him over anyone in the world on those greens, hands down”

Even though Knox doesn’t keep an official score – he’s just there to keep pace – the Augusta regular unofficially beat Rory McIlroy by a stroke when he shot 71 in 2014. This year, he teed it up with Jason Day on Sunday and Day admitted he was a little nervous that he’d get beaten by Jeff “Fort” Knox.

Augusta National doesn’t let him take interviews or official photos so he’s nestled himself into an incredible position as the most popular unknown figure at The Masters.

Keep living the dream for the rest of us Knoxy!
