Lexi Thompson Wins at Indy Women in Tech Championship

With a wire-to-wire victory at the Brickyard Crossing Golf Club, Lexi Thompson managed to beat competitor Lydia Ko at her own game to capture the Indy Women in Tech Championship.

In a week that featured some of Thompson’s worst ball-striking, she managed to show off her hard work around the greens that earned her the win.

With only 11 greens in regulation and 23 putts on Saturday, Lexi’s upgraded short game gave her a 4-under-par 68 to win the championship and to move to number 2 in rankings.

The victory also earned her a 122mph lap around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, a traditional kissing of the bricks and a bottle of milk at the finish line.

“The first woman to ever kiss the bricks,” LPGA media official Al Lunsford told Thompson. “It was a huge honor, definitely a memory I’ll never forget,” Thompson said.
