Marc Leishman Takes The BMW Championship

As the playoffs near their final round, players are gunning for their points to make it to the Tour Championship. The BMW Championship, that concluded on Sunday, gave Marc Leishman the redemption that he’s wanted since his collapse at TPC Boston two weeks ago.

Starting out Sunday with a 5-shot lead, Leishman protected it with at least a two-shot cushion throughout the day. Fowler and Rose both made charges at the Aussie but their birdies were answered with birdies of his own as he grabbed the title with a 5-shot lead, -23, for the week.

This win nets him the 15th in World Golf Standings and 4th in FedEd points.

“Backing up that back nine last week at the Dell (Technologies Championship), when the pressure got put on by Rosie, I reacted with birdies,” Leishman said. “Just tried to keep doing my own thing and give myself chances, and managed to roll a couple in there at the end which was nice walking up the last there with a bit of a buffer.”
