Phil Mickelson Falls One Shot Short of Making Playoff Finals

With a full season of tournaments and three playoff rounds under his belt, all Phil Mickelson had to do was drain one more shot to make the top 30 and play in the Tour Championship at East Lake. He needed to drain this chip on the 18th hole at the BMW Championship and gave it his best shot.

“It’s unfortunate. I didn’t score the best today,” Mickelson said. “I had a little rough front nine, but had that chip on 18 gone in, it would have been enough. I missed by a shot.”
