Rors Misses Cut in Scotland and Heads to Royal Birkdale for Early Prep.
As we all get geared up for some great British Open watching this weekend, players are making their way to Royal Birkdale in efforts to hone their skills, understand the course and rest up for the big week ahead.
McIlroy is no different but ended up in North West England a little early after missing the cut at the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open last week. This was Rory’s second missed cut in a row and hopefully the streak ends at one of the most exciting majors in golf this coming weekend.
“That’s the tricky part about playing in the wind leading up to this event,” McIlroy said. “You run the risk of getting into a couple of bad habits just because of trying to keep the ball down, and you start to get into a few little tendencies that you usually don’t get into. That’s what we’re trying to iron out at the minute.”
We’re pulling for the young-gun in hopes that he sorts out any mechanical or mental issues with his game and puts on a great showing at The Open.
