Russell Henley’s 10 Birdies Get Him to Augusta
The last ticket to The Masters was issued yesterday at the Shell Houston Open and Russell Henley decided to go-low while Sung Kang came out flat on Sunday.
Kang started the day with a three shot lead while the crowd favorite, Rickie Fowler, was in the hunt for a Sunday drive and a potential second victory this year. As unscripted as golf can be, Henley caught up to a struggling Kang by the 7th hole and proceeded to finish the day with a 10-birdie total and a career-low round.
The three-stroke victory was Henley’s third on the PGA Tour and he’ll be making his fourth appearance at Augusta this week.
