Team USA Takes Presidents Cup in Landslide

With a team that oozed chemistry and compatibility, team USA took the Presidents Cup in a 19-11 win over the International team on Sunday at Liberty National.

Rickie Fowler and Justin Thomas, Jordan Speith and Patrick Reed, Dustin Johnson and Brooks Koepka. These pairings were all matched perfectly to set up a domination in the first three rounds of the tournament. Chemistry plays a big part in golf and these guys had it in spades.

The Sunday singles matches, however, showed an understandably worn out American team who dropped four of their first five matches.

The team undoubtedly closed out the win with authority that was followed by champagne showers and a quick ferry ride back to Manhattan where they likely celebrated well into Monday morning.

“This team was just an amazing bunch of guys, amazing performance. Everybody was on great form. For us to have 11 guys in the Tour Championship; everybody except Phil Mickelson was at East Lake,” Matt Kuchar cracked, a not-so-subtle jab at Mickelson (who went 3-0-1). “It was like, how many times does it happen that you get 11 out of 12? If it was only for Phil, we would have had 12 of 12, but Phil was not there.”

In the entertaining post-win press conference the guys also jabbed at Jordan Speith for his 0-5 record in singles matches which showed the camaraderie amongst the gang and giving us hope for a similar team in the future.
