Tiger Woods: Hopefully Fourth Back Surgery’s a Charm

After a promising look at a couple (er, one) good shots at Big Cedar Lodge, it was expected that Tiger was on his way back into practice and potentially into competition later this season. News yesterday, however, dismissed this theory declaring that Woods underwent another, a fourth, back surgery and will be out for the remainder of the season.

Tiger said: “The surgery went well, and I’m optimistic this will relieve my back spasms and pain. When healed, I look forward to getting back to a normal life, playing with my kids, competing in professional golf and living without the pain I have been battling so long.”

Woods has undergone a single-level fusion that should have him return to full activity in 6 months and potentially back on tour in October.

It’s tough to be optimistic after the ebbs and flows of his recent career but it’s hard to give up on a strong competitor like Tiger.

We wish him an excellent recovery and hope to see him back on deck in late 2017.
