Weekend Winner: Jordan Speith’s 10th Win on Tour at Travelers

Following a Major weekend is always a tough shtick but the Travelers Championship certainly didn’t disappoint.

Holding the lead for nearly the entire tournament, Jordan Speith and his genius short game walked into Sunday with one stroke up on the field. An early birdie-run widened the gap but a bogey on the 12th and 14th dropped him into a tie with, his buddy, Daniel Berger. Exchanging birdies on 17 (Berger) and 15 (Speith) led the two young-guns to extra holes.

Berger missed the fairway and knocked his approach to 50 feet while Speith sat in the same greenside bunker he got up-and-down from on the 72nd hole. Speith eyed the hole, set his stance and splashed his bunker shot out and into the cup for his birdie and absolutely lost it in a rare moment of celebration. Berger rolled his birdie putt by the hole for his fourth runner-up finish on tour. “Jordan doing Jordan things” Berger said when asked about the playoff loss.

The 23 year old’s 10th win on Tour is inked in the record books as he becomes only the second person to win 10 before turning 24. Tiger won 15.
