Weekend Winners: Hudson Swafford and Tommy Fleetwood
Hudson Swafford, the 29-year-old Florida native, wins the Career Builder Challenge by a shot beating the latest member of the 59-Club, Canadian, Adam Hadwin by one stroke. The University of Georgia grad, grabbed his first win on tour with three birdies on the last four holes that are quoted by creator Pete Dye as the toughest finishing holes he’s ever created. After stuffing his tee shot to 17 inches on the tough par three 17th, Swafford pared 18 to take the championship. This was Hudson’s first win after 93 career starts. Congrats on opening the floodgates!
In Abu Dhabi, Englishman, Tommy Fleetwood fended off a competitive field to win the HSBC Championship with a 67 on Sunday. Dustin Johnson and Pablo Larrazabal were edged out by one shot as Fleetwood took the Falcon Trophy. Fleetwood’s birdie on 18, after a driver from the rough puts him on the par 5 in two, ended up being the difference maker as Johnson’s eagle on the same hole left him one stroke short for the tie. Great job on the win, Noonan… er, Fleetwood! Keep that flow flowin’!
